Mint.com – Cool Office Customisation

Mint.com is a US-based personal finance tool that helps organise and centralise all your banking information. It seems quite useful and it’s free too, however I couldn’t test it out as it’s not available in the UK yet.

The Mint office itself isn’t revolutionary, its based around the standard (read boring) cubicle type office. That said, I nevertheless decided the office was worth a mention because of the cool customisation of their furniture and decoration. The custom pieces were created by the San Francisco based design studio Because We Can.

Advice on Bank Finance from Peter Ibbetson

In this video, which provides advice for small businesses and start-ups, Peter Ibbetson chairman of small business banking at RBS and NatWest, talks about how to get financing.

Ibbetson discusses “when you should approach your bank to talk about the business you’re starting, whether you should apply for a loan or an overdraft, how to make cash flow forecasts, the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) and what other support you can get from your bank manager.
